Welcome to my world - The world of Tish

I wonder if Hilary Duff's mother felt like this

It's brag time, ladies and gentlemen.

My darling Drama Diva, the light of my life and the source of many of my gray hairs, had a school program tonight. My Casper Son (he is so fair I swear he's clear!) sat on my lap and clapped along to the sing alongs the entire class performed.

BUT THEN......

Drama Diva had a solo with another second grader...four lines of "America the Beautiful".

SHE HIT THE HIGH NOTE!! SHE WAS ON KEY!!

SHE MADE EYE CONTACT WITH THE AUDIENCE!!

In case you don't know, I can cry at the drop of a hat, a song, a video, a commercial - even a good Hallmark card while reading it in Walgreens. Yes, I 'emote'. That's my politically correct way of saying I can be a bawl bag. But when my daughter exhibits such bravery, such talent in front of 300+ people staring at her, I can't help but cry out of pride.

So there is no funny story today, no crazy patient tidbit to pass on, just a smiling, tearstained face of a mom whose daughter shined 'like the light from the sun' (Lizzie McGuire Movie quote - sad that I know it by heart, huh?)

Stay tuned for tomorrow's post, though. It will involve a Santa Claus figurine demonstrating something only an excited man can display (if you know what I mean), Viagra, and me. And I might tell the strobe light story for Crystal and Tink. Remember, I said MIGHT.

  • Tish, I'm right there with you. My daughter's program was Monday and I cried too when she sang, (but I cried even more when the little boy in kindergarten who has been fighting cancer this school year sang Tim McGraw's "Live like You're Dying")

  • LOL! I sang that song once and I don't know if I hit the note or not, but I do know my nose twitched like a rabbit's the whole time.
